Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how LingPie ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit our website, create an account, or use our localization platform and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you acknowledge this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Scope and Roles

This Policy applies to personal information we process as a controller when you interact with LingPie directly—for example, when you register, manage billing, or contact support. When you upload translation content, glossaries, or other materials that contain personal data about your end users or employees ("Customer Content"), you typically act as the controller of that data and LingPie processes it on your behalf to provide the Service. You are responsible for providing appropriate notices and obtaining any required consents from data subjects whose information appears in Customer Content.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following categories: • Account and profile data: name, email address, authentication identifiers, organization membership, roles, and preferences you provide when signing up or managing your account. • Billing and subscription data: plan selection, payment status, billing contact details, and transaction references processed by our payment partners (we do not store full payment card numbers). • Usage and technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, log data, feature usage, and cookies or similar technologies described below. • Diagnostic and error data: error reports, stack traces, performance traces, session replay recordings (which may capture on-screen content visible in the interface, including Customer Content), and related technical context when issues occur. • Product analytics: feature usage events (such as sign-in, organization and project creation, imports, exports, and billing actions), page views, and identifiers linked to your account when you are signed in. • Customer Content: translation keys, strings, files, glossaries, comments, and metadata you submit to the Service. • Communications: messages you send to support or feedback channels. You may choose not to provide certain information, but some features may not work without it.

3. How We Use Information

We use personal information to: • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including authentication, collaboration, integrations, and exports • Process subscriptions, trials, add-ons, and machine-translation credit purchases • Communicate with you about your account, security alerts, product updates, and support requests • Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve performance, reliability, and security • Diagnose errors, monitor performance, and investigate issues using tools such as Sentry, including session replay where enabled • Understand product usage, measure feature adoption, and improve the Service using analytics tools such as PostHog • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements We may use aggregated or de-identified data for analytics and product improvement where it no longer identifies you.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to operate the Service: • Service providers that help us host infrastructure, authenticate users, process payments, deliver email, provide machine translation, monitor errors, or support analytics—bound by contractual obligations to protect data and use it only for our instructions. Key subprocessors include: – Clerk (user authentication) – Creem (payment processing) – Sentry, a service of Functional Software, Inc. (error monitoring, performance monitoring, and session replay; United States) – PostHog, Inc. (product analytics; United States) • Integrations you enable, such as source-control or translation tools, according to your configuration • Professional advisers, auditors, or authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security • Business transfers, such as a merger or acquisition, subject to appropriate safeguards We may update this list as our vendor stack changes. Contact us if you need the current subprocessor list.

5. International Data Transfers

We may process and store information in countries other than where you live. When we transfer personal data internationally, we implement appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms required by applicable law. You may contact us for more information about transfer mechanisms relevant to your region.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods for Customer Content and audit logs may depend on your plan and organization settings. When you delete content or close an account, we delete or anonymize data within a reasonable period unless retention is required by law or legitimate business needs (for example, backup cycles or billing records).

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal information, and to object to certain processing or withdraw consent. You can update much of your account information in product settings. To exercise other rights, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before responding. If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. To request deletion or restriction of analytics or diagnostic data associated with your account, contact us using the details below. Marketing emails include an unsubscribe link where applicable. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.

8. Security

We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse, including access controls, encryption in transit where appropriate, and monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; you are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and configuring organization access appropriately.

9. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, understand how the Service is used, and improve performance. Essential cookies are required for core functionality. PostHog uses cookies and local storage to measure product usage and associate events with your account when you are signed in. Sentry may use cookies or similar technologies to correlate error reports and support session replay. Analytics and diagnostic cookies, where used, may be disabled through your browser settings when available; disabling them may limit our ability to diagnose issues or improve the Service. Third-party authentication and payment flows may set their own cookies governed by those providers' policies. Where required by law (for example, in the EEA or UK), we will obtain your consent before placing non-essential analytics cookies.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 16 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Service, by email, or by other reasonable means. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.

12. Contact Us

Questions about this Privacy Policy or our data practices may be directed through the support options in your LingPie account or via the contact information published at https://www.lingpie.com.
